Caroline Nugent
Having worked in education for over 15 years, I have extensive experience in teaching young people from a wide range of backgrounds. The most important skills I have acquired over the years are to adapt my teaching to meet the needs of the individual and to foster a love for learning; having a desire to learn and taking ownership of one’s learning are key to achievement, and these factors are fundamental to my role as an educator.
In my previous role as Head of Year 6 at a co-educational London prep school, I supported my pupils through the 11+ examination process and I am well-informed on the requirements for senior schools in and around London. Since leaving this role to have my son, I have worked as a private tutor, teaching pupils aged 8 – 14 maths, English and reasoning in both online and face to face settings. As well as ensuring my pupils have a firm foundation in the key skills required for the 11+ exam, I focus on stretching and challenging pupils to foster an ethos of ambition and a love for learning.
